Congratulations to RCA Executive Director, Charissa Levy, who was awarded the 2016 Literary Award in Health Services, Policy and Management by the Society of Graduates of the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME), University of Toronto.

The award is in recognition of her paper "Realizing the Potential of Rehabilitative Care for People with Complex Health Conditions: The Time Is Now," coauthored with RCA secretariat staff Sue Balogh and former staff member Emmi Perkins. The paper was published in the July 2016 issue of Healthcare Quarterly.

The paper describes how rehabilitative care supports the complex needs of people with multiple chronic conditions and comorbidities and points to the role of rehabilitative care in supporting health system directions. The work of the Rehabilitative Care Alliance receives particular attention in the paper.

Presented annually, the literary award recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of IHPME Alumni. Charissa holds a Master of Health Science degree in Health Administration from IHPME and is an adjunct lecturer in the program.
