The Rehabilitative Care Alliance is making progress on a number of other initiatives. The following are some brief updates:

Adopting shared indicators for A&R Projects reporting
The RCA developed a shared set of provincial indicators to report on A&R initiatives and is encouraging all LHINs to use them. The standardized indicator sets are aligned with the indicators mandated by the Ministry and the objectives of the A&R Guideline. The indicators will also allow the RCA and the LHINs to demonstrate the collective provincial impact of A&R funding.

Support for standardized program names
To implement the RCA's definitions frameworks, organizations must also standardize the names of their rehabilitative programs. Standardized names reduce confusion and support a shared understanding of rehabilitative care among providers and patients. In the future, they will also be necessary in order to report through the Access to Care ALC Wait Time Information System and the Resource Matching & Referral System. The RCA has prepared a simple guide to help organizations adjust program names.

Provincial Referral Standards updated
The RCA has updated terminology in the Provincial Referral Standards (PRS) and reference guide so that it is consistent with the RCA's Definitions Framework for Bedded Levels of Rehabilitative Care. The PRS is used to provide standardized data for referrals from acute care to inpatient rehabilitation, Complex Continuing Care and other discharge destinations.
