The RCA is working closely with the Ministry of Health and Health Quality Ontario to address rehab issues in the rollout of bundled care across the province.

The RCA is a member of the Ministry of Health bundled care implementation team and acts as a resource on implementation strategies and communication related to rehabilitation. Discussions are underway on issues such as ensuring warm hand-offs for patients, addressing the needs of rural areas where rehabilitation resources are less available and determining how data should be reported.

The Ministry has also asked the RCA to develop a survey for bundled care providers to gather feedback on successes and challenges in implementing bundled care. The survey will be distributed in December.

In addition, the RCA is working in collaboration with CorHealth to provide guidance on rehabilitative care for the rollout of bundled care for stroke and coronary bypass surgery (CABG).

Through this work, the RCA ensures rehabilitation is recognized as essential to improving health outcomes and reducing hallway health care. The RCA also continues to provide important continuity and support for rehabilitative care service providers across the province.
