On September 12, stakeholders participated in the first of two design intensive sessions co-led by the RCA and The Potential Group. The agenda was informed by a series of interviews and focus groups held over the summer, which included patient/care partner representatives as well as participants from Ontario Health corporate, Ontario Health regional leads, hospital leaders, home and community care leaders, and frontline rehab providers.

Designed to leverage the collective wisdom of RCA members and solicit their input, the design intensive provoked rich and thoughtful dialogue among participants. Over the course of the session, they began developing the framework for a visionary, practical strategy through which the RCA will continue to advance rehabilitative care as an integrated aspect of the health care system.

This work is also a significant component of the RCA’s commitment to member engagement. At the final session in October, members will build upon their efforts and focus on developing concrete goals to propel rehabilitative care forward, together.

Thank you to all who have participated to date. We look forward to sharing more about this exciting initiative in the weeks to come. For more information, please contact Charissa Levy, Executive Director.
