The RCA has been working to support partners in better capturing patient outcome and experience measures in community rehab through the development of a PROM (patient-reported outcome measure) and PREM (patient-reported experience measure)  toolkit.

Expected to be complete later this fall, the toolkit supports community-based rehab providers in measuring and reporting patient experience and outcomes using standardized and validated tools as recommended in the community-based rehab white paper, briefing note and resource for Ontario Health Teams.  Based on evaluation criteria developed through a literature review and subject matter expert consultation, the RCA recommends the EQ-5D-5L for use as a generic PROM in community-based rehab. In addition, the RCA has undertaken a Modified Delphi Approach to choose two to six PREM questions which may be used along with the EQ-5D-5L as part of a provincial data collection strategy.
