Celebrating Rehabilitation Day 2025
Date: September 29, 2025
On September 17th, RCA partners marked the fifth annual Rehabilitation Day. Across Ontario, the rehab community found creative ways to honour the day, from sharing patient stories via social and traditional media to celebrating rehab staff and partners through special events and messages.
Building upon previous years, #RehabilitationDay was active on social media throughout the day, and engagement was notable as organizations, providers and community members liked, shared, commented and reposted messages of celebration and encouragement. While we can’t capture every example, we’ve linked above to a small sample of posts that reflect the spirit of the day.
In addition, this year, the cities of Toronto and Ottawa officially proclaimed September 17, 2025 as Rehabilitation Day, recognizing the vital role of rehabilitative care and honouring the dedication of rehab professionals and the perseverance of patients and families who rely on rehab services.
Thank you to all who participated in this year’s celebrations. We look forward to more awareness-raising activities in 2026!
Reminder! To coincide with Rehabilitation Day, earlier this month the RCA released its 2025 Rehab Provider Experience Survey. Now in its fourth year, the survey is helping to shape the future of rehabilitative care across Ontario and inform important provincial health human resources planning.
If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to share your input, please take a few minutes before September 30th to complete the survey and encourage your colleagues to do the same. It’s anonymous, takes less than 10 minutes, and ensures the voices of rehab providers are heard in decisions that affect care delivery across the province.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact us directly.
