The RCA continues to lead the Functional Clinical Outcome Measure(s) for Community Stroke Rehabilitation in Ontario initiative, in partnership with Heart & Stroke.

As announced in January, the initiative aims to identify one to two standardized, meaningful outcome measures that can be used across Ontario to assess the impact of community stroke rehabilitation (CSR) and guide quality improvement and future planning.

Recent milestones include:

  • Completion of a literature review to identify existing clinical outcome measures and evaluation criteria
  • Circulation of a province-wide survey as part of an environmental scan
  • Ongoing collaboration with Heart & Stroke and engagement of provincial and regional partners
  • Inclusion of patient and care partner perspectives to ensure the work remains grounded in lived experience

These foundational activities are helping to shape a robust and inclusive process for identifying outcome measures that are feasible, evidence-based, and aligned with Ontario’s CSR model of care.
