Updated Total Joint Replacement Resources Support Best Practice Care
Date: June 25, 2026
Earlier this year, the RCA updated its Rehabilitative Care Best Practices for Patients with Hip & Knee Replacement framework and related resources.
The update reflects current evidence and evolving models of care, including the rise in same-day discharge following total joint replacement surgery. Over the course of 2025/26, the RCA convened the TJR Best Practices Update Working Group and conducted a comprehensive review of the literature to support best practices for rehabilitation following total hip and knee replacement, from the preoperative phase through postoperative rehabilitative care.
The updated framework provides evidence-informed recommendations across the continuum of care and is accompanied by practical resources designed to support implementation and quality improvement activities. In addition, the RCA’s Total Joint Replacement Quick Reference Guide offers a concise summary of key recommendations, while can help organizations evaluate alignment with best practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
We encourage partners to explore the updated framework and related resources. For more information, please contact us directly.
