New report confirms value of outpatient data tool
Date: February 21, 2020
The RCA has released its final report on the phase II pilot of the revised Community Rehab Assessment (CRA) clinical outcomes tool.
The nine-month pilot with 25 organizations explored the ability of the tool to describe outpatient rehab populations and measure functional outcomes across those populations. It also examined how to better integrate the tool into existing clinical processes.
The pilot demonstrated that the CRA is a robust tool with the ability to detect changes in patient function and measure patient outcomes across a broad range of patient populations. However, the pilot confirmed that broader uptake and implementation of the tool cannot move ahead until some barriers identified by clinicians are addressed, such as the overall workload required for the tool and the current reliance on a paper format.
The RCA’s initiative on outpatient data reporting has now been integrated into its work on bundled care.
